Benefits of a Tired Dog

Some of the most common behavior problems seen in dogs that don’t get enough exercise and play are:
  • Destructive chewing, digging or scratching

  • Investigative behaviors, like garbage raiding

  • Hyperactivity, excitability and night-time activity

  • Unruliness, knocking over furniture and jumping up on people

  • Play biting and rough play

  • Attention-getting behaviors like barking and whining

When your dog is tired, he is less likely to misbehave because his energies have been channeled into playing and walking. Keeping the mind exercised helps when outdoor conditions don’t cooperate; try a treat dispensing toy or a puzzle to keep your dog entertained.
Another huge problem with dogs today is obesity; more than half of dog in the US were considered overweight or obese in 2013. Just like people, a dog that is carrying excess weight can develop joint and liver problems, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and more.
We want your dog to have a healthy, long life so you can get busy making memories together. Let’s get walking!
